What functionality stops working if I exceed my plan limits?

Last updated July 1, 2026

Add to Calendar buttons stop working for new clicks, new RSVP submissions are blocked, and new calendar subscriptions are rejected. Everything that's already active continues to function normally.

What stops working (for new activity)

  • Add to Calendar buttons and links - new clicks trigger an error message or the button fails to render
  • RSVP forms - new attendee submissions are rejected; the form may show a "registration closed" message
  • Follow Calendar / Subscribe - new visitors cannot subscribe to your subscription calendar

What continues to work

  • All previously created events and calendars remain active and unchanged
  • Existing calendar subscribers continue to receive synced updates when you add or modify events
  • Existing RSVP attendees - their data is intact, their confirmation emails were already sent, they remain registered
  • All dashboard features - event editing, attendee lists, analytics, billing - remain fully accessible

Which limit triggers the block?

Each usage metric (Add to Calendar clicks, RSVPs, calendar subscribers) has its own independent counter. Hitting your RSVP limit doesn't block Add to Calendar clicks - each limit operates separately.

How to check where you stand

Your AddEvent dashboard shows a real-time usage breakdown for the current period - how many clicks, RSVPs, and subscribers you've used vs. your plan's limits.

How to restore functionality

Upgrade your plan - immediately effective, no waiting for a period reset. Wait for your usage period to reset - resets on the same date each month (the day your account was created).

Does AddEvent notify you before you hit the limit?

Yes - AddEvent sends a usage alert email when you approach your plan limits so you have time to upgrade before functionality is interrupted.
