How do I add an RSVP button to a Mailchimp email?

Last updated August 12, 2026

Adding an RSVP button to a Mailchimp email lets subscribers register for your event directly from your campaign. Copy the RSVP link from AddEvent and insert it as a button or text hyperlink in your Mailchimp template.

Step-by-step

  1. In your AddEvent dashboard, create your RSVP event and go to Sharing
  2. Copy the RSVP link - the URL to your hosted event registration page
  3. In Mailchimp, open your campaign in the email builder
  4. Drag a Button block into your layout, set the label to "RSVP Now" or "Register", and paste the AddEvent RSVP URL as the button link
  5. Or highlight text and click the link icon to add it as a text hyperlink
  6. Send a test email and click the link to confirm the registration page opens correctly

What happens when subscribers click

They land on your AddEvent-hosted RSVP page, fill in their details (name, email, and any custom fields you have configured), and receive an automatic branded confirmation email with an Add to Calendar button. All registrations appear in your AddEvent attendee dashboard.

Mailchimp automations

Include the RSVP link in a Mailchimp automation sequence - for example, a pre-event invitation flow sent to a specific audience segment or tag. Follow up with a second send to non-clickers a few days later.

Syncing registrations back to Mailchimp

Use the AddEvent + Zapier integration (available on Small Business plans) to push new RSVP registrations to a Mailchimp list or add a tag automatically when someone registers. This enables post-registration automation sequences in Mailchimp based on RSVP activity.

For one-off exports, download your attendee list from AddEvent as CSV and import it into your Mailchimp audience after the event.
