Can I send automated follow-up emails after an event?

Last updated July 29, 2026

Yes. AddEvent's Notification Flows support post-event follow-up emails that send automatically after your event ends - no manual triggering required.

Setting up a post-event email

In your Notification Flow, you can add a follow-up email with a trigger set to a specific number of hours or days after the event end time. Common use cases:

  • Thank-you email sent 1 hour after the event ends
  • Recording or replay link sent the day after the event
  • Feedback survey link sent 2 days after the event
  • Next steps or offer sent within the week for lead nurture

How to configure it

  1. In your AddEvent dashboard, open or create a Notification Flow
  2. Add a new email step and set the trigger to "after event end"
  3. Write your subject and message - use merge tags for the attendee's name, event title, etc.
  4. Apply the Notification Flow to your RSVP event
Because Notification Flows are reusable, you create the post-event sequence once and apply it to every future event of that type. A monthly webinar series, for example, would automatically get the same follow-up email sent to each cohort of attendees.

Who receives the follow-up

Post-event emails go to attendees who RSVPd Yes (and optionally Maybe, depending on your flow settings). Declined attendees are excluded.

Combining with your email platform

If you want to add post-event attendees to a longer nurture sequence in Mailchimp, HubSpot, or your CRM, export your attendee list after the event and import it into your platform. Alternatively, use the Zapier integration to automate the handoff.
