What user roles and permissions does AddEvent support?
AddEvent supports shared account access for teams, with more granular role-based permissions available on Enterprise plans.
Standard account access (all paid plans)
On Small Business and Professional plans, all users added to an account share the same level of access - they can create and edit events, manage attendees, view analytics, and adjust account settings. There is no built-in read-only or editor role on standard plans.
Professional plan supports up to 5 users. Small Business supports 1 user (the account owner).
Enterprise - custom roles and permissions
Enterprise plan customers can work with AddEvent's team to configure more granular access controls, including:
- Restricting certain users to specific calendars or event sets
- Read-only access for stakeholders who need to view but not edit
- Admin vs. standard user distinctions
Practical approach for teams on standard plans
Since all users share the same access level, most teams manage this through internal process rather than platform-level permissions:
- Designate a primary account manager who owns settings and billing
- Use shared login credentials for the events team (acceptable for marketing teams)
- Keep sensitive areas (billing, API keys) documented and known only to the account admin
API access and tokens
API tokens are account-level - any user with access to the account settings can view the API token. For teams where API access needs to be restricted, this is a consideration worth raising with AddEvent's Enterprise team.
