What happens to my events if I cancel my AddEvent subscription?

Last updated July 1, 2026

When you cancel or downgrade, your account moves to the Hobby plan limits. Your events and calendars are not deleted - nothing is lost. Only your functionality and usage limits change.

What happens to your existing content

  • All events and calendars remain in your account - fully intact and editable
  • Existing calendar subscribers continue to receive sync updates as long as your account is active, even on the free Hobby plan
  • Existing RSVP attendees - their data, confirmation emails, and registrations are unaffected
  • Hosted landing pages - your event and calendar landing pages remain accessible at their existing URLs

What changes after cancellation

  • Your usage limits drop to Hobby plan levels: 100 Add to Calendar clicks, 20 RSVPs, and 20 new calendar subscribers per usage period
  • Paid features are no longer available: custom branding, advanced customization, priority support, Zapier integration, API access, and recurring events
  • If you were using a custom sender email or domain, those revert to default AddEvent branding
  • Add to Calendar buttons may stop working for new clicks once you hit the Hobby monthly limit

Can I come back?

Yes. Upgrading from Hobby back to a paid plan is instant. Your historical events, calendars, and attendee data are still in your account.

Recommendation before cancelling

If you're thinking about cancelling because of cost, consider downgrading to Small Business ($29/month) first and monitoring whether the reduced limits still meet your needs. Many teams find the lower tier covers their actual usage. Going all the way to Hobby is worth testing first to see whether the free limits are workable before fully removing paid access.
