Does AddEvent support recurring events?

Last updated July 1, 2026

Yes. AddEvent supports recurring events and event series. You set the recurrence rule once - daily, weekly, monthly, or a custom pattern - and AddEvent generates all occurrences automatically.

How to create a recurring event

In the AddEvent dashboard, create your event and look for the recurrence settings. Choose your pattern:
  • Daily - every day, or every N days
  • Weekly - specific days of the week (e.g., every Tuesday and Thursday)
  • Monthly - same date each month, or same weekday (e.g., first Monday of every month)
  • Custom (RRULE) - for complex patterns using the iCal recurrence rule standard
Set an end date or a total occurrence count, and AddEvent generates the full series.

Managing a recurring series

AddEvent follows the standard event series model - you can make changes at three levels:
  • This occurrence only - change just one instance without affecting the rest of the series
  • This and all future occurrences - update from this date forward
  • All occurrences - change the entire series at once
When attendees add a recurring event to their calendar, all occurrences are added at once - they don't need to click Add to Calendar for each individual session.

Recurring RSVP events

Recurring events can also have RSVP functionality attached. Attendees can RSVP to specific occurrences rather than the entire series - useful for weekly classes or sessions where availability varies.

Plan availability

Recurring events are available on Small Business, Professional, and Enterprise plans. They are not included in the free Hobby plan.

Rendering a single occurrence

If you want to share just one upcoming instance of a recurring event (rather than the full series), AddEvent lets you render a specific occurrence as a standalone event for that share link.
