How do I create an Add to Calendar button for my website?

Last updated July 27, 2026

Creating an Add to Calendar button for your website takes about two minutes with AddEvent - no coding required.

Step-by-step

  1. Sign up at addevent.com (free plan available)
  2. Click Create Event and fill in your event title, date, time, location, and description
  3. Go to the Sharing tab of your event
  4. Copy the Button embed code - a short HTML/JavaScript snippet
  5. Paste it into your website wherever you want the button to appear
The button works in any HTML page and with all major website builders - WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, Weebly, and more. No plugin needed; it is a standard copy-paste embed.

What the button does

When a visitor clicks it, a small dropdown appears letting them choose their preferred calendar app - Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook, Office 365, or Yahoo. The event is added in one click.

Customization

In the AddEvent dashboard you can change the button colors, size, label text, and which calendar options appear. On Professional and Enterprise plans, full custom CSS is available for pixel-perfect brand matching.

For emails instead of websites

If you need calendar links for email campaigns (not buttons), AddEvent generates plain URL links and styled button images suitable for embedding in Mailchimp, HubSpot, Salesforce, and any HTML email template.
