How do I add calendar links to an email campaign?

Last updated July 27, 2026

Adding calendar links to an email campaign is a copy-paste process - you copy the link from AddEvent and insert it as a hyperlink or button in your email template.

Step-by-step

  1. Create your event in the AddEvent dashboard
  2. Go to Sharing and copy the Add to Calendar link - the universal link lets each recipient choose their calendar app (Google, Apple, Outlook, Yahoo)
  3. In your email editor (Mailchimp, HubSpot, Klaviyo, Salesforce, etc.), highlight the text or button you want to link
  4. Paste the AddEvent URL as the link destination
  5. Send a test email to confirm it works

Which link to use

  • Universal link - one URL, recipient picks their calendar. Cleanest option for most campaigns.
  • Platform-specific links - separate links for Google, Apple, Outlook, and Yahoo. Use when you want to display calendar-specific buttons side by side.

For personalized events (unique date per recipient)

If each subscriber has a different appointment time - such as booking confirmations or scheduled calls - use AddEvent's Dynamic Add to Calendar links. Build the URL with the event parameters and populate them with your email platform's merge tags. This requires the AddEvent Enterprise plan.

Works with all major platforms

Mailchimp, HubSpot, Klaviyo, ActiveCampaign, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Marketo, Braze, Constant Contact, SendGrid, and any platform that lets you add hyperlinks to email content.
