How to embed an Add to Calendar widget on your site

Last updated August 12, 2026

An Add to Calendar widget is a small, interactive calendar element you embed on your website - visitors click it to save your event to Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook, or Yahoo without leaving your page.

Two types of AddEvent embeds

Add to Calendar button - a single clickable button tied to one specific event. When clicked, it opens a dropdown so the visitor picks their calendar app. Best for event detail pages, landing pages, and blog posts promoting a single event.

Embeddable calendar widget - a full calendar display showing all your upcoming events in month, week, or list view. Each event has its own Add to Calendar button, and there is also a Follow Calendar button so visitors can subscribe to receive all future events automatically. Best for homepages, events hub pages, and sidebars.

Installing the Add to Calendar button

  1. Create your event in AddEvent
  2. Go to Sharing → copy the Button embed code
  3. Paste into a Custom HTML block on your website
Works on WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, Shopify, and any site that allows custom HTML.

Installing the embeddable calendar widget

  1. Create a calendar in AddEvent and add your events
  2. Go to your calendar's Sharing → Embeddable Calendar → copy the widget code
  3. Paste into a Custom HTML block on your page
  4. Customize colors, view type, and design in the AddEvent dashboard

Keeping it up to date

Both embeds update automatically. If you edit an event, add new events, or change your calendar, the embedded widget on your site reflects those changes without you touching the website again.

No coding required

AddEvent's embeds are copy-paste snippets. No JavaScript knowledge needed. The scripts load asynchronously so they do not slow down your page.
