About the role

Since we have a distributed team, this position is offered remotely. This allows you incredible flexibility to live and work wherever you desire, while still being a core team member of a fast growing technology startup.

What you'll be responsible for:

• Collaborate with the VP of Engineering to understand and execute all aspects of our agile software development process
• Work directly with other internal/external stakeholders to understand product requirements and translate them into software specifications
• Fully own and independently drive end-to-end development of new features
• Adhere to and help enforce AddEvent best practices through the use of code reviews
• Focus on quality and proactively strive to improve our platforms and fix bugs
• Collaborate across time zones via Slack, Jira, and video conferencing

Your skills:

• 5+ years professional programming experience, using PHP, Python, Java, or C#
• Solid understanding and demonstrable OOP skills
• Extensive experience writing clean HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Comfortable coding without frameworks (jQuery and vanilla JS are all we use)
• Understand relational database design and have working experience with MySQL
• Solid foundation in Computer Science fundamentals, algorithms, design patterns, and data structures
• Built RESTful APIs
• Solid experience with source control systems, preferably Git
• Knowledge of Agile development methodologies using Jira
• Excellent communication skills
• Super organized
• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related concentration, equivalent and/or combination of education and work experience

Nice to have skills:

• Professional experience with container technologies, ideally Docker
• Experience using AWS Services, including EC2, ECS, S3, RDS, and CloudFormation
• Redis / Memcached
• Elasticsearch
• CI/CD and DevOps
• Experience building scalable B2C web applications
