AddEvent’s Zapier Integration is Changing the (Workflow Automation) Game zapier

Updated Jan 23rd, 2024 by   Nicolas Zenker

Does anyone else feel like the clock is running at double speed some days? Each day our to-do list grows longer and longer, and try as we might to get everything crossed off before the end of the day, we just don’t ever seem to have enough time

Regardless of what you do in life — be it as a small business owner or entrepreneur, a manager or individual contributor to a massive organization, or a marketer at a tech startup — we’ve got the perfect solution to float by you.

We tried really hard to figure out a scientifically sound way to add more hours to the clock. Since we haven’t nailed that one down just yet, we’ve come up with a pretty solid second solution: workflow automation.

Meet Zapier, the King of Workflow Automation

You may not be familiar with the concept of workflow automation (also sometimes called business automation), so let us clarify the term.

Workflow: A series of tasks that need to be done to complete a task.

Automation: Something that can be done by a computer or software system.

To automate a workflow in your business, you first need to identify the task you want to automate and then create the rules and logic that rule how the tasks should be completed. And that’s where Zapier comes in.

Zapier makes workflow automation as easy as can be, with more than 6,000 different app integrations that seamlessly connect different platforms to streamline the way you work.

Take a Look at Zapier + AddEvent in Action

First, you’ll need to connect the platforms that you want to merge for this workflow. For example, if you want the AddEvent app to send information to your HubSpot CRM, then you’ll need to connect both your AddEvent account and your HubSpot account.

Then you’re going to pick a Trigger that tells the system “When this happens, you’re going to start the workflow”. Once you’ve done that, it’s time to decide what the Action or response to the Trigger is going to be.

Thanks to Zapier’s intuitive drag-and-drop editor, you can visually build this custom automation directly in the editor, and get inspiration on the types of Triggers and Actions you’re able to do with the platform.

And because of its customizable abilities, it isn’t just a two-point workflow. You can get creative and add other steps and platforms to be integrated into this Zap, too!

Introducing the New & Improved Zapier Integration

If you ever used our Zapier integration before November 15, 2023, you may have noticed that it left something to be desired. We heard you loud and clear — and that’s why we’re so excited to have recently launched our latest version, Zapier 6.5.0!

This upgraded integration was rebuilt from the ground up, featuring a variety of optimizations and pesky bug fixes that deliver an improved user experience. Here are a few of the overall improvements:

  • We’ve simplified and reduced the number of input fields and outputs so it’s that much easier to use and find the right workflow solutions
  • We’ve opted to use more of Zapier’s defaults for the input fields so things will parse correctly
  • We’ve standardized the dates and times as a yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss format
  • We also removed the separate start and end time date and time output fields, with just a single value required for start and end dates and times
  • We removed some of the unused input and output fields, as well as any that were confusing so it’s easier than ever to navigate

Check out this help doc for the complete list of changes to be aware of with our latest Zapier integration release.

It’s important to note that this new version contains breaking changes, so if you’ve used our Zapier integration before this latest release, you will need to migrate from that original version to our new and improved Zapier 6.5.0 to access all of these amazing, updated features.
