The heavy-duty trucking sector is responsible for 6% of the CO2 emissions in the EU. Only two technological solutions are available for decarbonization: batteries and green hydrogen, and both pathways are being investigated by the truck manufacturers. The Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) is the most important KPI of the logistics industry, and that’s why both zero emission technologies have to be assessed carefully throughout the whole value chain and compared with today’s diesel based trucking cost.
The H2Accelerate collaboration has been formed between Daimler Truck, Iveco, Linde, OMV, Shell, TotalEnergies, and Volvo Group to work collaboratively on a hydrogen trucking system. In September 2022, H2Accelerate has published a White Paper on the TCO of fuel cell trucks for the next 8 years, taking into account several scenarios ranging from “R&D and Deployment” to “Full Industrialisation”.
These scenarios were compared to diesel powered trucks. The White Paper also highlights the policy support that is needed to scale-up the hydrogen trucking sector.
In this webinar with H2Accelerate spokesperson Hannah Bryson-Jones, you will:
• Learn about Europe's leading hydrogen trucking initiative, formed by Daimler Truck, IVECO, Linde, OMV, Shell, TotalEnergies, and Volvo Group
• Gain insight into the projected costs of operating fuel cell trucks over time
• Understand how specific policy measures can enable the commercial rollout of hydrogen trucking In EuropePlease register for free and share the link with your friends and colleagues in the hydrogen and logistics industry.
