Welcome to the VMHLC NOV 12th, 2025 Special Awards Ceremoy & Monthly Update
This month’s gathering will be one to remember. On Wednesday, November 12 at 4:30 p.m. EST, we will host a special awards ceremony honoring Illinois Governor JB Pritzker and Representative Jehan Gordon Booth as VMHLC’s Democratic Governor and Legislator of the Year.
Governor Pritzker and Representative Gordon Booth are being recognized for their groundbreaking leadership in the Illinois Breakthrough Therapies for Veteran Suicide Prevention Program, a first of its kind effort creating access to innovative therapies, advancing research, and training mental health professionals.
Following the ceremony, we will continue with our coalition update from 5:00 to 5:30 p.m. EST, then open the floor for members who wish to connect and engage more directly.
In this session you can expect to:
Watch the presentation of awards by LTG Steele and listen to brief remarks by awardees and how the Illinois model is shaping national momentum for Veteran care.
Hear updates from coalition leadership and partners leading impact at the state and federal level.
Share action items and opportunities to support the movement.
Spotlight partnerships, progress, and legislative breakthroughs.
Celebrate collective wins and reflect on lessons learned.
These sessions are more than meetings. They are moments in our movement to come toghter and honor leadership, strengthen alignment, and build the future of Veteran mental health together.
