Host an Event for National Public Lands Day, Informational Webinar
As non-profit partners of National Public Lands Day (NPLD), The Corps Network, the Student Conservation Association (SCA), and Conservation Legacy are teaming up with the National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF) to encourage the Corps community to organize events for NPLD 2019.
Hosted by NEEF for over 20 years, NPLD is the largest single-day volunteer effort for America’s public lands. On Saturday, September 28, hundreds of thousands of volunteers across the country will participate in projects designed to restore and enhance public parks, forests, and waterways. Every year, numerous Service and Conservation Corps organize NPLD events, using this annual observance as a great way to engage the local community.
In this webinar, NEEF and two Corps organizations will offer valuable information for organizing your own 2019 NPLD event. Topics covered will include: how to register an event; where to find planning resources; information about funding opportunities; how to submit post-event data; and ideas for leveraging your event for various purposes, such as alumni engagement and increasing visibility. The Student Conservation Association and Conservation Legacy will provide examples and answer questions about real NPLD projects.
