Roundtable Talk: A Followup to Nested Transactions

Back in December 2024, we hosted a Roundtable Talk to introduce the concept of Nested Transactions, what they are, how they work, and what they could mean for the Cardano ledger. That session focused on education, helping the community build a shared vocabulary around this complex and often misunderstood idea.

As development progresses and community conversations deepen, the discussion is evolving. This follow-up session explores the broader picture: What possibilities could Nested Transactions unlock? What challenges do they bring? And how should the community approach this decision?

We’ll cover:

 • The potential benefits, including features like Babel fees and new programmability layers
 • Risks related to complexity and concerns around censorship resistance
 • Alternative approaches and what could be gained or lost by choosing a different path
 • The role of community consensus in shaping Cardano’s future direction
