MIRA is a journey to the roots of South American music. After living and performing in Australia for over a decade, jazz-trained Chilean vocalist Magdalena Mira felt a longing to reconnect with the music deep within her soul. “As much as you do, as far as you go,” she says, “the roots are the strongest thing.” Magdalena has brought together a band of players who are all passionately immersed in the music of their ancestors. Combined with Magdalena’s unique jazz phrasing, improvisation and composition, MIRA is the rhythm, sweat, and harmony of South American roots animated by acontemporary spirit. BYO permitted, though please note it is a concert atmosphere over a drinking / social occasion. No alcohol is sold or available on premises; there are many pubs and restaurants within a 5min walk.
Access Unfortunately there is currently no disability access to the venue, which is up one floor (22 steps). The stairs are very wide (1.5m) and have handrails on both sides.
