OpenDoors -- Welcome Hub Agder's evening events to help you get to know the community and each other better -- is coming to KUBEN Museum and Archives!
KUBEN is housed in one of Norway’s most modern museum buildings and offers an insight into Arendal’s rich cultural heritage. At the free event, you’ll discover 9 exhibitions that tell the story of Arendal and the surrounding region — its people, its past, and how the city became what it is today. You'll also get to know other locals and internationals.

📌 Where: KUBEN, Parkveien 16A, Arendal
🌟 Highlights
- A short introduction in English to KUBEN and its important role in preserving Arendal’s history
- Free access to all exhibitions. Take your time exploring at your own pace!
- Coffee and informal mingling — a chance to meet others and build new connections
- A guided English tour of the powerful exhibition "Enslaved". NB! Registration is required for the tour (see below). Limited spots available!
The exhibition explores Norway’s involvement in the transatlantic slave trade, and tells the story of the slave ship Fredensborg, which sank off the coast of Arendal in 1768. The wreck was discovered in 1974. In the exhibition, you can see parts of the shipwreck and watch a film about its discovery.
