The Book Was Better is a book discussion series that will explore three novels that served as source material for film/television adaptations. Led by SECCA executive director Bill Carpenter, all discussions are free and open to the public.
The series will kick off with a discussion of Cormac McCarthy's 2006 novelΒ The Road, in which a father and his son navigate a desolate and bleak landscape. The book is available for purchase at SECCA's gift shop.
All discussions take place in the historic Hanes House on SECCA's grounds. There are no tests, so feel free to attend even if you don't open or finish the book.
Handicap parking for the Hanes House is located directly in front of the historic home, on the cobblestone driveway.
