Fall "Virtual" Speaker Event - Designing a Firehouse
Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at 7:00 p.m.
Via Zoom
Our upcoming speaker event features Stephen Carlidge, founder and owner of Shore Point Architecture, who will ZOOM us through the brick-and-mortar process of designing a state-of-the-art firehouse.
Put away your visions of fire-fighters sliding down a brass pole to suit up and sound the sirens. Those days are gone.
Today’s fire stations are complicated structures that must meet rigorous building codes and strict requirements for storing fire engines, equipment, and apparatus. They must accommodate technical and human factors and fit into the neighborhoods — often residential — where they’re situated.
Join us via Zoom to learn the inside story of firehouse design. Look for details (date and time) and a link to register coming soon to your email. Details and registration will also be available on our website oceanmuseum.org.
Mr. Carlidge has a 42-year career in architecture and founded Shore Point Architecture in 2001. His firm is located in Ocean Grove.
