GRLI Courageous Conversation: Degrowth

Starting in 2021 the Courageous Conversations initiative follows an arc of inquiry into our collective global and local condition. The series explores a wide range of topics that deal with the extent and possibility of systemic collapse, building personal and organisational resilience in the face of unprecedented uncertainty, developing frameworks to support action and change, and brings inspiring examples of hopeful action from across the globe.Each Courageous Conversation gathering typically contains 3 moments. We usually kick-off with two or more “conversation starters” - people who hold deep expertise or experience on a relevant or pressing topic engaging in private conversation out in the open. This takes courage! This opening 30 minutes allows the rest of us to engage in appreciative listening before we take some time in smaller groups (the next 30 minutes) to digest, reflect and surface further thoughts, questions and ideas. The final third of the gathering is an open plenary discussion where we’ll invite your feedback, hear some responses from the conversation starters but also from others in the room.
