Update RSVP Email Sender Name and Email Address

This help doc explains how you can change the "from" email address for RSVP events. The "From" email can be changed, but it's an advanced process. In order to make your email address a "sending" email address, it needs to be verified. Otherwise, all emails will end directly in the "SPAM" folder. AddEvent has partnered with Mandrill by MailChimp to send out emails. Follow the steps below.

From the Dashboard:

  1. Click the drop-down menu on the top right corner of your page and select Account.
  2. Click Settings under the Related tab on the left side of the page.
  3. Click the RSVP tab.

Changing the "From" name

When users RSVP for an event, a confirmation email is sent and reminders are sent out prior to the event taking place by the AddEvent system. The "From" name can easily be changed below.

  1. Type the desired "From" name.
  2. Click Save.

    1. Once we’ve verified your sending domain, we will send you instructions on how to configure your DNS.
    2. To add the SPF and DKIM records for your sending domain, you'll need to add TXT records to your domain’s DNS through your hosting provider, domain registrar, or DNS provider. Take a look at your provider’s documentation or support for specific information on adding TXT records to your domain.
    3. Our email vendor has a support/example document available here:https://mailchimp.com/developer/transactional/docs/authentication-delivery/#configure-your-dns.
