Bioethics Colloquium
Daniel Wilkenfeld, PhD
Assistant Professor of Acute & Tertiary Care
School of Nursing, University of Pittsburgh
Abstract: In this work-in-progress presentation, Dr. Wilkenfeld will argue that according to the currently dominant models, ‘disability’ is a broken concept—that is, it licenses inferences from someone having a particular condition to their being overall disadvantaged. He will argue that we should think of disability as best characterized for each individual. I then consider what that would mean for current usage.
