Job Seekers Success Group

schedule

Wednesday, February 3, 7:00pm - 9:00pm (EST)

This meeting will take place via Zoom until further notice and registration is required to receive the Zoom invitation.

Jewish Family Service is offering a Job Seekers Success Group for active job seekers who are unemployed, underemployed or seeking a career change.

The topic for this session is “Background Checks and References – What are employers learning about you?!” presented by Paul Cecala, Chief Career Navigator, Cecala Career Consultants. Paul will take an in-depth look at the many different ways employers are delving into candidate’s pasts to determine their suitability for the job, including some changes based on COVID and legalized marijuana. The interview is just one step. The background and reference check is a completely separate and extensive step made much easier by the internet. What are employers learning about you? What can you do to ensure they learn what you want? These are just two of the important questions answered in this presentation. Leave with many steps you can take today to improve your background and reference check.

This group is open to the entire community.

To register or for more information about Career Counseling Services, please contact Elise Prezant at 908-725-7799, extension 108 or eprezant@JewishFamilySvc.org.

This group is free of charge, but space is limited, so please make sure to register.

Funding for this program is provided by grants from The Arnold A. Schwartz Foundation, United Way of Hunterdon County, and Magyar Bank
