Join us for our monthly check-in, on the 2nd Saturday of every month!
These meetings are designed to be low-pressure, flexible, and welcoming for everyone in our community.
What you can expect:
FIRST: We set the stage with our basic rules of engagement
- Participate in the way that works for you: Camera on is optional, show up just as you are. You can speak, use the chat, or just listen.
- First names help us connect: you can include pronouns & location if you want, but not necessary
- Respect Confidentiality and Avoid Comparisons: Allow others to share their own story, and we hold empathy for each other as everyone is coming into this space at a different stage.
- Hold space for others to share equally: Leave time for everyone to speak. Use the chat for brief and celebratory comments
- No recording allowed: We know it may be nice to go back to the content later. However, we will record and post what is appropriate to share
How the call works: A gentle discussion topic: Each session usually includes a simple theme or prompt related to work, entrepreneurship, or navigating professional life with chronic illness or disability. No preparation is needed.
Accessibility: We use the transcript feature of zoom to help with accessibility. If you need to bring an ASL interpreter, you are welcome to do so and we will be happy to accommodate so you can participate.
Moderated and respectful space: Our meetings follow The Empower Network’s community standards to ensure a supportive, judgment-free environment.
A few things to know:- You can arrive late or leave early if needed
- You can step away or turn your camera off at any time
- Sharing personal experiences is welcome, but never required
These zoom calls are meant to be a place to connect, reflect, and support one another, not to perform, impress, or have all the answers.
As always, call a doctor if you need medical assistance, a mental health provider if you need support, and a lawyer if you need legal assistance. See less
