Quick facts: Simon, later named Peter (Rock), was a fisherman and introduced to Jesus by his brother Andrew. Despite his weaknesses, Jesus chose him to lead the Church. He was later crucified upside down on the cross because he was unworthy to die the same as his Lord. Before his conversion, Saul, A Jewish pharisee, condemned the Christians. On the road to Damascus, Saul had a vision of Jesus, who said, "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting". Paul was baptized and his eyes opened and he tirelessly preached the Gospel to the Gentiles in the Mediterranean. They share the same feast day "for these two were one; and even though they suffered on different days, they were as one. Peter went first, and Paul followed"- St. Augustine of Hippo
