Friday, March 13, 8:30am - 9:30am (EDT)
Russia’s use of propaganda, disinformation and other hybrid tools has become a defining feature of the European security landscape. This event will analyse these trends through the lens of Italy, a country with a complex and multi-layered relationship with Russia.
The discussion will explore how these tactics operate in Italy, why the country’s political and media landscape may be more vulnerable than others and what Italy’s experience means for broader European exposure and resilience.
Nathalie Tocci is one of Europe’s leading voices on foreign policy and strategic affairs, with particular expertise on EU external action, Russia and the Mediterranean.
Doors will open at 12:00, with a sandwich lunch, followed by the discussion from 12:30 to 13:30.
The discussion will be held under the Chatham House Rule.
