Stanford Redwood City is marking its fifth anniversary this year. To commemorate this milestone, we have invited Leticia Britos Cavagnaro to join us and share insights from her latest book, Experiments in Reflection. In a rapidly changing world, having the tools to understand what future you want to create is crucial.
Being Human in Times of AI: An Experiential Exploration
The availability of ChatGPT and similar tools that have the ability to interact in a way that is perceived as human marks a turning point in which artificial intelligence (AI) goes from being a theoretical concept or an algorithm running in the background, to a concrete element that shows up in our day-to-day, promising –or threatening?-- to radically transform how we work and live. In this workshop we will actively explore how to leverage AI tools to enhance our work and, together, reflect on what is –or should be– uniquely human.
You will need your cellphone and a notebook and pen.
NOTE: Free copies of Experiments in Reflection will be available to registered attendees. Leticia will also be signing copies after the event.
About the Author:
Leticia Britos Cavagnaro, Ph.D., is a scientist turned designer who has created and facilitated a wide range of learning experiences in design, creativity, and innovation at the Stanford d.school and beyond. Her creative methods include the use of emerging technologies to help people grow as self-directed, action-oriented, reflective, and responsible shapers of the future. She co-directs the University Innovation Fellows Program and is an adjunct professor at the Stanford d.school. Leticia has a PhD in developmental biology from Stanford University and is a former member of the Research in Education & Design Lab.
