DESCRIPTION:High-fidelity control and readout of superconducting qubits\nYasu Nakamura -RIKEN Center for Quantum Computing\nAbstract: \nSuperconducting quantum computing technologies have made significant progress in the last few decades. State-of-the-art experiments nowadays operate on more than a hundred qubits\, with two-qubit gate fidelities exceeding 99% and approaching 99.9%\, enabling demonstrations of quantum error correction and logical error suppression. However\, to achieve more drastic reductions in logical error rates and quantum error-correction overhead\, which are required for large-scale fault-tolerant quantum computing\, we need to improve further the gate and readout fidelities at the physical-qubit level. In this talk\, we discuss our approaches to the end [1-7]. As the current target of 99.9% has nearly been achieved\, raising it to 99.99% will be the next challenge. \n[1] R. Li\, K. Kubo\, Y.
