Keynote
Tom Simmons, Director, Private Markets Product Development
London Stock Exchange
Tom focuses on product development and policy covering London Stock Exchange’s equity capital markets, leading on the Exchange’s development of a crossover market seeking to join up private and public markets which intends to make use of HMT’s proposed PISCES regulatory framework. Tom has been at the exchange for over 11 years, working within regulatory, policy and product roles spanning LSE’s AIM and Main Market trading venues focusing on primary market development. Tom is a Chartered Accountant who worked in PwC’s Insurance and Investment Management practice prior to joining London Stock Exchange.

Mark James, Consultant: Investor relations, Private Securities Market

Mark focuses on investor engagement for the London Stock Exchange’s Private Securities Market; the new venue that intends to make use of HMT’s proposed PISCES regulatory framework. Mark worked in investment banking for over 25 years, in roles spanning both public and private equity markets as an analyst, an investor and an advisor, before leaving to set up his Investor Relations consultancy, Investor Reach. Mark is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, having qualified with PwC UK prior to his investment banking career.

Daniel Jacoel, Founder & Principal
Oakview (Single Family Office)
Oakview invests in both public and private markets. Within private markets, Oakview focuses on acquiring profitable (c.£5m EBITDA), cash generative SME businesses. It is sector agnostic but only invests in companies domiciled in developed markets. Oakview provides high-level strategic advice and utilises its network for its portfolio businesses but does not interfere with daily operations. Most investments that Oakview has made over the past three years have been LP secondaries.
Prior to establishing Oakview, Daniel worked at Standard Chartered in Beijing, was Founder and Head of Kaupthing, Singer & Friedlander’s China Team in London, was a co-founding Partner of Akur Partners, and the sole Founder of Sino International Capital Group.

In the Secondaries and Primaries Funds team, he was responsible for structuring, executing and operating secondary transactions across the fund range.
