Prior to joining IBM\, Tomas earned his PhD studying with Raymond Laflamme at the Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC) and the University of Waterloo. Upon completing his graduate studies\, Tomas was a Sherman Fairchild Fellow of the Walter Burke Institute for Theoretical Physics and member of the Institute for Quantum Information & Matter at the California Institute of Technology.
