Are you an international living in Oslo looking for support to build your social and professional network? We understand that relocating to a new country is exciting, but that it also comes with a few challenges. Oslo Business Region would like to welcome you to Oslo and offer you a supportive community and the chance to expand your network.
Join us for an informal breakfast and hear from other internationals that have mastered the transition to Norwegian life and get the chance to ask them questions.
Program:
08:30 - 09:00 Registration + breakfast
09:00 - 09:15 Welcome to Oslo from Oslo Business Region
09:15 - 09:30 Hear from internationals - tips and tricks for living life in Oslo to the fullest!
This time we are joined by Elisabet García González. She is a scientist with a passion for language and communication. Originally from Spain, she has lived in The Netherlands and Norway, where she came to pursue a PhD at the University of Oslo in 2019.
She is an advocate for multilingualism, which she believes is at the core of creating more equitable and inclusive societies. This principle is what has driven her interest towards AI Ethics and AI Governance, with a focus on linguistic and cultural representation.
Elisabet is currently navigating the challenging journey of job hunting in Oslo and the transition from academia to industry. Oddly enough, she loves public speaking, and teaches scientists and professionals how to be better presenters and communicators.
In her free time, you will find her in a cafe reading a book, chatting to a random stranger or chasing the latest best pastry in town.
