13:00 Welcome
Richard Howard, Research Director, Aurora Energy Research
13:05 Hy4Heat project update
Hy4Heat is a major project aiming to establish the technical feasibility, safety and convenience of replacing natural gas with hydrogen in buildings and appliances. Find out what has been achieved in the project and plans for the next stage of innovation in hydrogen.
Dr Mark Taylor, Deputy Director for Energy Innovation (SICE), Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS)
13:20 HyCompact
HyCompact aims to support the acceleration of the low carbon heat rollout by overcoming the installation skills challenge, and to minimise emissions from heat. It involves the piloting of hybrid heating systems where the heat pump is contained in the boiler. Hear about the interim report results and plans for Phase 2 of this important decarbonisation project.

13:35 ReHeat
Heating and hot water, predominately from fossil fuels, account for 21% of the UK’s carbon emissions. It is essential that we address this as part of the ongoing work to meet net zero targets. The ReHeat solution includes smart grid controls and smart heating management with domestic heat storage to reduce peak electricity demand as a cost-effective alternative to network upgrades.
