We invite you to the launch of Grief Week 2025 and the exhibition- The Art of Grieving.
Join us as we officially open the exhibition which will run from August 16th- 28th. You will hear different perspectives of grief from lived experience speakers and musicians and will be one of the first to see the 'The Art of Grieving' Art Exhibition which will be opened to the public.
Grief is a journey both deeply personal and universally shared. The Art of Grieving is a powerful exhibition showcasing artists who have turned to their creative practice to explore, express and make meaning of their own experiences of loss.
Through painting, sculpture, photography, textiles, mixed media, and poetry, each work invites viewers into a space of raw emotion, quiet reflection, and honest storytelling. Whether art has been used as a tool to heal, honour or simply survive, these pieces speak to the unspoken — illuminating the many forms and paths that grief can take.
This exhibition aims to spark conversation, deepen awareness and challenge the silence that too often surrounds grief.
Join us as we explore how creativity can hold sorrow, connect us through shared vulnerability, and ultimately, remind us of the enduring presence of love.
This event is supported by Geelong Regional Libraries and Geelong Community Foundation.
This is a free event - but if you could please RSVP to let us know you are coming.
