Securing .ada and .cardano: A Community Q&A

The Cardano Foundation invites you to a community Q&A session focused on the strategic initiative to secure the .ada and .cardano generic Top-Level Domains (gTLDs).

This session will provide a comprehensive overview of the Foundation's plan to apply for these gTLDs during the upcoming ICANN application window in Q1 2026. This is a critical opportunity for community members to engage with the project team, gain a deeper understanding of the initiative's objectives, and address any inquiries prior to the commencement of the governance process.

The agenda will cover the following key areas:

• Strategic Rationale: The importance of establishing a dedicated and trusted digital identity for the Cardano ecosystem.

• Innovation and Utility: The potential for new applications and services, including simplified wallet addresses and enhanced integration with decentralized identity solutions.

• Governance and Stewardship: The Foundation's commitment to a community-centric approach, including the establishment of a Community Advisory Group.

• Financial Overview: A transparent discussion of the project's funding, which will be sourced entirely from the Cardano Foundation's own financial resources.
