The Green Temple Presents:
Our guest speaker Jim Montgomery
South Bay Parkland Conservancy
“Restoring The Balance”
AT THE GREEN TEMPLE
Jim has a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Autonomous Robotics from the University of Southern California, and since 2000 has worked at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. But here at the Green Temple, we’ve got to know him as a fierce and tireless advocate for the biodiversity and balance in the natural world. Jim played a role in protecting parts of the Ballona Wetlands when this preserve was endangered by a massive development in the 1990s. Nowadays you can see him working with community volunteers at our South Bay beaches, bringing back native life. Jim is a South Bay Parkland Conservancy board member and the Vice President of Rewilding Projects. He will share with us an inspiring journey of tending to our environment and a hope that we can still change the course. It is poignant that he will be speaking to us at these - especially for Los Angeles - unprecedented times.
