Welwyn Garden City [UK] World Wide Wander Walkshop

Join as for an in-person walkshop gathering with the Coralus community as part of Street Wisdom's World Wide Wander. 

This walkshop will be hosted by Ula Caroto - meet her at the Campus West Car Park in Welwyn Garden City (by the information board in the top left corner of the car park).

You'll meet briefly there at 1:10pm to do introductions and create a group feeling, then from 1.30pm we'll enter Sherrardspark Wood by walking along the old railway track trail and continuing to the ancient woodland. We will cover approximately 4km by following one of the "City of Trees" routes and, marvel, in the autumnal feeling and colours that will, no doubt, be present by the end of the month.
 
We'll gather at one of the ancient oak trees present in the woods to establish who wishes to stay on once the walking part of the event is complete and to continue sharing the group wisdom. We will end the walk at the same place we have started, and those who wish to stay on, will continue to Megan's in the Garden City restaurant for a coffee (or a bite to eat if there is desire to do so).
 
This is an all-weather, 45 minute to an hour long walk (depending on our speed), with an additional 20-40 minute for the coffee/snack debrief and connection afterwards. If it has been/is raining, it is likely that the paths will be muddy or wet, in which case, hiking/waterproof shoes/wellies would be recommended to keep your feet dry and warm.
 
The location provides a perfect combination of train and car travel access. If you are based in London direct train from Kings Cross St Pancras to Welwyn Garden City takes only 30 minutes and the start location is just a few minute walk from the station. If you are based in Hertfordshire, you are likely to know WGC already, but might be less familiar with the City of Trees routes. So this could be a wonderful opportunity for you to take part in the World Wide Wander initiative while exploring beautiful Hertfordshire on a Friday afternoon.
