Juneteenth Celebration: Freedom to Flourish—Black Innovation and Cultural Impact
Join us for a Juneteenth celebration event as we come together as a community to reflect on the meaning of freedom—past and present—and to celebrate the brilliance, creativity, and resilience that continue to shape our shared future.
We'll open with a compelling conversation featuring Melissa Butler, Founder and CEO of The Lip Bar. A former Wall Street analyst turned beauty industry disruptor; Melissa left finance to build one of the most inclusive makeup brands in the market; proving that innovation thrives when culture leads.
Joining Melissa are Shelley Sylva, TD Bank and Oliver Chen, TD Cowen, who also proudly represents our Asian Employee Network and Forever Proud communities. Together, they'll explore how Black entrepreneurship, identity, and impact intersect to reimagine what freedom and flourishing can look like.
Then we'll move from reflection to rhythm, with a special Boots on the Ground line dance led by the talented Maisha Thompson. Learn the moves that are lighting up the culture, because emancipation is motion, and joy is resistance. We will close out the evening with cocktails, food, and curated sounds by DJ Ant-Smalls.
All colleagues, including new summer interns are welcome. Let’s gather in the spirit of freedom, to reflect, connect, and move forward together.
