Shred Event (Off-site event please READ details below)

WVMLS and your valley REALTOR® Associations - MVAR, PCAR, and WAOR - will host a shred event from 1 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. – or until the truck is full - on September 29th at the Linn County Expo Center’s parking lot at 3700 Knox Butte RD E, Albany. Each person can bring boxes full of paper. There is no size limit for the boxes, but they must be light enough for a volunteer to lift and handle. The event is open to WVMLS and association members only. Continue reading for program guidelines.

WVMLS recommends shredding real estate documents dated six years or older, bank and credit card statements, canceled checks, bills, tax returns, medical records and any other personal and client records that include a social security number or other sensitive data.

Paperclips, binder clips, hanging file folders, rubber bands, and staples...all of the typical filing fasteners, DO NOT need to be removed. These are no problem for the shredders at all! However, NO 3 ring binders, the paper needs to be removed and the binder disposed of prior to shredding.

BE ADVISED: hard drives, batteries, backup tapes, x-rays, live ammunition, prototypes, product/part samples, tools, garbage, and careless inclusion of unapproved items will damage the shredders, contaminate recycling, and cause fires.
