DESCRIPTION:Hello members of the ASTG\,\n\nOur next webinar will take place over Zoom on Thursday\, May 29th\, 2025\, at 8AM Pacific Time / 11AM Eastern Time. Our guest will be Dr. Chris Wickens from Colorado State University. \n\nHere is a summary of the exciting topic he will be sharing with us:\nEarly Concerns about HUDs involved the focus of attention on low visibility unexpected hazards in the forward field of view. These concerns were well founded. But this attention tunneling also occurred with highly realistic head down displays. We then extend this research to the use of HMDs in safety critical environments\, in particular for hazard attention cuing. The AI of machine learning is necessary to do this and the realism of augmented reality (AR) may trigger the automation bias when the AI is imperfect \n\nAs a reminder\, all our webinars are livestreamed and the recordings are made available online. They also do not require an HFES or ASTG membership to view. Please access the link below to join the webinar:\nhttps://polymtl-ca.zoom.us/j/86024557548?pwd=aDRPb1B5ZaFxSOtd0aRA9ypwlii1j6.1\n\nWe are excited to showcase the interesting HF-related work going on in the aerospace industry\, and hope you can join us for this unique experience! Also\, if you or anyone you know is interested in being a guest in one of our future webinars\, please reach out to rlopesrose@beta.team mailto:rlopesrose@beta.team.\n\n- Your ASTG Executive Committee\n\n\n\n------\n\nPowered by addevent.com \nShare your next event with us!\n
