DESCRIPTION:After the recent adoption of the DMA and the DSA\, remaining interpretation and implementation issues come under the spotlight. Among the most important obligations are algorithmic transparency and data access rules allowing public authorities and more to have an insight into the inner workings of platforms and assess compliance. Further data access and transparency obligations are expected to be included in other digital regulations still under negotiation\, such as the AI Act or the Data Act.\nIn light of the above\, CERRE is organising a hybrid\, public event which will focus on its latest report\, entitled ‘Access to Data and Algorithms: For an Effective DMA and DSA Implementation’\, authored by Laura Edelson (New York University)\, Inge Graef (Tilburg University)\, and Filippo Lancieri (ETH Zurich). The study deals with the complex task of identifying potential implementation challenges and proposes policy solutions\, taking into consideration the balancing act of potential conflicting interests between data access\, on the one hand\, and privacy\, security\, IP rights\, and rule of law\, on the other.\n\nWhat principles should guide the implementation? Which data access requests should be granted? How can we minimise harms to the interests of the data holder and the data subject? Join us on 26 April from 14.30 to 17.30 CET\, in Brussels or online\, for the presentation of the report and a stimulating discussion with the representatives from the European institutions\, national regulators\, key industry players\, and the CERRE academic team.\n\nThis event is open to all viewers online\, but registration is required. Should you like to join us in person\, please note that there are limited number of seats available\; your registration to in-person attendance will be reviewed and confirmed via email.\n\n\n\n------\n\nPowered by addevent.com \nShare your next event with us!\n
