Ria Andriani: Making the world a more inclusive place
"Representing people with disability is a rich area of journalism. As someone with lived experience of living with disability, I think it’s important that we get to tell our story – from how we respond to public health policy, speaking about safety and accessing arts and recreation. I wish by the end of my session you’d have a taste of how diverse people with disability are, and some ideas on how to make the world a more accessible and inclusive place for everyone."
Lola Hierro: "The Language I brought With Me"
"The Language I brought With Me" is a podcast divided in five chapters, one for each African region. In each of them, we interviewed people from the African community in
Spain. They showed us how their mother tongue sounds and what they do in order to not forget it and save it for future generations. With this initiative we show our readers another angle of covering immigration in Spain, different from what they usually consume: illegal arrivals, poverty and hateful speeches."
Aris Dimokidis: How to include everyone (except the bigots)
"The voice of the LGBTQIA+ community is growing louder in Greece. However, problems of diversity and inclusion in Greek journalism remain. This elevator pitch will explore how one of the biggest news websites in the country addresses those problems and pursues effective solutions."
