This presentation will explore ways in which eating disorders impact family systems and typical expectations of ways in which families may present to therapy when experiencing the impact of a loved one’s eating disorder. Myths around eating disorder relapse prevention will be explored, and we’ll identify ways for individuals to assess the impact of their loved one’s eating disorder on their family system. Action oriented behaviors for family members will be reviewed in order to increase autonomy and feelings of competency within the family system.Confirmed.
