The session on "Promoting Responsible Business Practices through Effective Remediation" will bring together key stakeholders from various sectors, with a particular focus on the extractive industries such as mining, and pulp and paper. While these industries are often associated with significant risks and challenges related to human rights and environmental impacts, they also have the opportunity to lead by example in adopting innovative and effective remediation strategies. Organized by the Foundation for International Human Rights Reporting Standards (FIHRRST), this session will explore how companies can not only address past grievances but also strengthen their reputation, enhance stakeholder trust, and create long-term value by aligning with international human rights standards. By committing to responsible practices, these sectors can contribute to sustainable development and demonstrate that profitability and ethical conduct can go hand in hand.
