In this kick-off to the 2018 season, Kim Hall will describe an approach developed by The Nature Conservancy with help from many partners and collaborators to identify "strongholds" for biodiversity under both current and future climate conditions. The approach focuses on enduring features such as variation in geology, landforms, and soil/soil moisture, and also incorporates local and regional connectivity. The products are maps that can help inform decisions at both local and regional scales.
