Quick facts: St. Ignatius was considered the first "worldly" saint as he and the members of the Society of Jesus, the Jesuits, went out adn taught about the classics and literature. He encouraged the Jesuits to "find God in all things." After being bedridden for a year due to a broken leg, he spent his time reading about the life of Christ while healing from his injury. He took the life of a poor man and set aside his wealth and fame. Living in a cave outside of town, he wrote about his emotions while encountering scripture which would later become the Spiritual Exercises.
