DESCRIPTION:Hello members of the ASTG\,\n\nWe are happy to announce the next "human factors in aerospace" webinar. This webinar is being co-hosted by the Augmented Cognition Technical Group (ACTG) and the ASTG.\n\nOur next webinar will take place over Teams on Tuesday\, February 24th\, 2026\, at 10:00 AM Pacific Time / 1:00PM Eastern Time. Our guest will be Prof. Mickaël Causse from ISAE-SUPAERO in Toulouse.\n\nThe webinar will be titled "Flying with the Brain: The Impact of Stress and Mental Workload on Pilot Performance". Here is a bio of the speaker and a summary of the exciting topic he will be discussing:\n\nMickael Causse (PhD) is a French professor specializing in neuroergonomics\, known for his work on mental workload\, stress\, and decision-making. Passionate about aviation and cognition\, he has collaborated with academic and industrial institutions to enhance safety and performance in complex environments.\n\nThe presentation explores the impact of mental workload\, stress\, and emotions on pilot performance. We will define mental workload and stress and explain how these factors can degrade performance and compromise safety. Different measurement methods are presented\, ranging from subjective assessments to physiological and neurophysiological indicators (EEG\, fNIRS\, fMRI). We will present several experimental studies\, for example the impact of mental workload on alarm detection\, the neural correlates of mental workload assessed through an fMRI study\, or the effects of startle and surprise during piloting.\n\nPlease access the link below to join the webinar:  https://teams.microsoft.com/meet/34397489715807?p=2hw11NTT71POZI6sKw\n\nWe are excited to showcase the interesting HF-related work going on in the aerospace industry\, and hope you can join us for this unique experience! Also\, if you or anyone you know is interested in being a guest in one of our future webinars\, please reach out to rlopesrose@beta.team.\n\n- Your ASTG Executive Committee\n\n------\n\nPowered by addevent.com \nShare your next event with us!\n
