Dr. Julia Cooney, the CEO and founder of PREMAZ, will present "Precision Memory: A novel way to detect dementia decades before symptoms appear."
This talk explores how over a decade of research from the Cambridge Memory Lab led to the development of precision memory testing, a new approach to detecting cognitive decline long before dementia symptoms appear. Traditional cognitive assessments rely on pass–fail outcomes and can't detect the earliest stages of disease. In contrast, precision memory focuses on the quality of memories, revealing subtle degradation years (and potentially decades) before clinical diagnosis. The presentation will examine the scientific background behind precision memory, the limitations of existing cognitive tests, and how this research was translated into the PREMAZ digital cognitive assessment.
Neuronic Discussion Group is a monthly meeting for professionals who are interested in the science, research, and application of photobiomodulation and/or neurofeedback.
