Helping the Board Stay Ahead: A Peer Exchange for General Counsel & Corporate Secretaries

As the issues reaching the board become more complex, General Counsel and Corporate Secretaries play an increasingly important role in ensuring directors have the information, education and support they need to govern effectively.

This private, virtual Peer Exchange will bring together GCs and Corporate Secretaries to compare approaches to some of the practical challenges that come with supporting today’s board—from onboarding new directors and keeping experienced directors current to helping the board build the knowledge it needs around fast-moving issues such as AI.

The conversation will explore questions including:

• What does effective director onboarding look like today?
• How are you keeping seasoned directors current as board responsibilities and expectations evolve?
• What does meaningful AI education for directors look like—and what role should the GC and Corporate Secretary play?
• How are you identifying and addressing gaps in board knowledge and continuing education?
• How can board materials, briefings and information flow better support director decision-making?

Designed as a candid, off-the-record discussion, the session will provide you an opportunity to share what is working, learn from peers and surface practices you can bring back to your own board.
