Join us for an exclusive deep-dive with Jo Elise as she opens up her Logic Pro session and walks us through the making of a few tracks she’s been developing during her time at golden lotus studio.Jo Elise is a London-based producer, singer/songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist with a signature sound that blends alt-pop, soul, R&B, and cinematic electronica. With roots in jazz harmony and folk songwriting, Jo brings both musical chops and emotional depth to her work - crafting rich, layered productions that are as technically sharp as they are deeply human. She’s collaborated across genres, and continues to carve out a space that’s uniquely her own - where lush vocals, unexpected textures, and honest songwriting meet. Her music explores identity, vulnerability, healing, and the complexity of connection - with a voice and perspective that feel both grounded and expansive. In this session, Jo will pull back the curtain on her creative process: from how she builds out vocal stacks and shapes the emotional arc of a song, to her go-to production tools and arrangement tricks in Logic Pro. Whether you’re an artist, producer, or just someone who loves seeing how the magic happens, you’ll walk away inspired and full of ideas.
Here's how it works:The Zoom call is opened by the host (usually Gary) about 2 minutes before the top of the hour. We bow in and briefly state what it is that we're working on (anything from doing a new draft of your Weekly Prompts song to doing your music marketing social media posts)Everybody mutes and gets down to focused work (cameras are encouraged to be on, but it's your choice)At 15 minutes before the end of the call, we un-mute and have the option to show-and-tell (for example, sharing your social media post, or playing a new song)It's really an awesome, community-based way to make focused progress on your music work, especially whatever music-related work you might be avoiding! (This is a drop-in session for all members of the Sustainable Songwriting Collective.)
