How to use and customize your "Add to Calendar" links and buttons

When you create a calendar or an event, you have the ability to share “Add to Calendar” links inside emails and campaigns, and to add an “Add to Calendar” button to your event or website.

Out of the box, AddEvent comes with a few beautiful options for you to simply copy and paste into your desired media of choice.

Add to Calendar links

"Add to Calendar" links can be used in all media like emails, newsletters, campaigns, or on your website. You can customize the “Add to Calendar” links to fit your own desired design. To customize your "Add to Calendar" links, follow the steps below:

  1. From the dashboard, go to an event or calendar page.
  2. Scroll to the Add to Calendar links section and click the “New” button to open the style generator.                     
  3. A pop-up will appear where you can make the following changes to your "Add to Calendar" links:
    • Change the color of the buttons. Use the predefined colors or select your own color in the color palette. 
    • Change the edge style of the button. You can select straight corners, slightly rounded corners, or fully rounded corners. 
    • Change the text and icon options: You can select “Icons + Text”, “Text”, or “Icons”. 
    • Change the size of the buttons. You can select between a number of predefined sizes.

  4. Once you have configured your buttons to match your design, click the “Save Configuration” button to save your custom "Add to Calendar" link design.
  5. You can now copy and paste your “Add to Calendar” links can into your desired media by clicking the "Copy" button. To access the raw HTML for the "Add to Calendar" links, you can click the"< >" code icon in the bottom right hand corner and copying the HTML from the pop-up.

"Add to Calendar" buttons can be used on your website or landing pages. You can customize the “Add to Calendar” buttons to fit your own desired design. To customize your "Add to Calendar" buttons, follow the steps below:

  1. From the dashboard, go to an event or calendar page.
  2. Scroll to the Add to Calendar button section and click the “New” button to open the style generator.
  3. A pop-up will now be visible where you have options to:
    • Change the color of the buttons. Use the predefined colors or select your own color in the color palette. 
    • Select a number of different button designs.
  4. Once you have configured your buttons to match your design, click the “Save Configuration” button to save your custom "Add to Calendar" button design.
  5. You can now copy and paste your “Add to Calendar” button into your desired media by clicking the "Copy" button. You can also view and copy the code snippet by clicking the "< >" code icon in the bottom right hand corner and selecting the code on the pop-up that appears.
